A, Jones of Knott and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Poitevint of 1700 Alabama, Big Spring.An arch of greenery flankedwith candelabras holding cathedral tapers decorated the altar area. The center arrangement was a basket of gladioli and pom pom mums. White satin pew bows marked the bridal aisle.Michael Adams played theorgan and Jeanette Nichols was pianist. Soloist was CharlotteNichols of Andrews who sang“Wither Thou Goest and“Because.The radiant bride, given Inmarriage by her father, wore a formal gown of pure silk organza over peau de sole. The yoke and petite sleeves were of lace. The lace adorned the center front of the dress and at the hemline. The chapel length train fell from the yoke In the back and was bordered with the lace. Her veil fell from the headpiece of a crown of pearls. White carnations surrounding a white orchid formed the bridal bouquet which was held atop a white Bible. She borrowed the veil and wore the traditional blue garter. Her shoe held a blrthyear penny, 1950 for luck.Miss Sandy Sikes was maid of honor. Her gown was fashioned of red silk shantung In the A-line style. Her headpiece was a red silk shantug rose covered with tulle. Her bouquet was of white carnations placed on a love knot.Miss Rita Jones and Miss Pamela Jones, sisters of thebride, were bridesmaids. Theywere dressed as the maid ofhonor and carried similar bouquets.Charles Bingham, Jr. of Pecos served as best man. Groomsman were Morris Mo-lpus and David Poitevint, brother of the groom of Big Spring. Ushers were Mike Faulkner of Big Spring and Charles RayJones of Knott.Mrs. Jones selected a navy blue dress with white accessories for her daughter's wedding.Mrs. Ronnie Green hosted the wedding reception at the church following the cere-were Mrs. R. L. Collins, Mrs. Preston Adams, Mrs. Robert Nichols, Mrs. Joe Mac Gaskins, Miss Brenda Mize, Miss Vicky Grantham, Miss Sara Bledsoe and Miss Jackie Kemper.The bride’s travel costume was a vellow knit dress with white accesorles and she worethe orchid from the bridal bouquet.The bride is a graduate of Sands High School where shewas active In the Future Homemakers of America and 4-H club work.The groom is a graduate of Big Spring High School and Howard County Junior College.
