Edmonds girl to marryPeace Corps co-workerMr, and Mrs, James H. Reid of Edmonds announce the engagement of their daughter, Carolyn Reid, to Kenneth David Cocke of San Diego, Calif, Both young people are presently in the Peace Corps in Colombia, South America, where they met.Miss Reid Is a member of the Colombia III unit of the Peace Corps and has beenwork-Ing in Bogota since November of 1962, first In community development work and more recently helping to set up a school counselling and testing program. She is a graduate of Edmonds High School, and of Whitman College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1961 with a degree in Education and Psychology, Before joining the Peace Corps, Miss Reid taught sixth grade at Martha Lake School for one year.Cocke is a member of theColombia IV unit of Peace Corps volunteers and has been working with cooperatives in the small towns. His parents are Mrs. May Vickers Cocke of San Diego, and Judge J. Bernard Cocke of New Orleans, Louisiana, He attended Riverside Military Academy, In Gains-ville, Georgia, and Georgia Institute of Technology, in Atlanta. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree inEconomicsfromCall-fomia Western University, San Diego.The young couple plan a July wedding in the Presbyterian Church in Bogota, followed by a short trip to the coast. They will be at home in Zotaquir-ra, department of Boyaca, Colombia, working with cooperatives and community development until March of 1965 when they will return to the United States.Attending the wedding, besides Colombian friends and fellow Peace Corps volunteers, will be her sister Barbara, a student at Whitman College, and her parents. Mrs. Reid is a counselor at Meadowdale Junior High.
