efT31tStTivendale Married t Saturday*3Ir)rrt*A very joyous occasion was that of the marriage of Mr. Albert E. Connon and Miss Annie W. Tivendale at theTivendale home, two miles northeastof Laclede, last Saturday, July 1st, Rev. Matthew H* Bradley, pastor-at-large of Hannibal Presbytery, was tho officiating minister. The ceremony,which was performed with a ring, was a beautiful and impressive one. Ittook place at high noon, and was witnessed by a large number of invitedguests. The bridesmaid was MisaMay Webley, and the groomsman wasMr, James Martin, of Hale, a cousin of the Tivendales. Pretty little Miss Ray Glover performed the office of flower girl with great grace and beauty, At the appointed hour the bridesmaid and groomsman took their places, preceded by the flower girl, arrayed in spotless white and bearing the ring upon a handsome pillow of flowers, and followed by the groom; and last of all came the bride, leaning upon the arm of her brother, Mr. Robert Tivendale, by whom she was presented to the groom. Then were the words spoken that made Albert E. Connon and Annie W* Tivendale husband and wife, followed by the hearty congratulations of the guests.A sumptuous dinner was in waiting and the hearty manner in which it was partaken of expressed the guests*appreciation of it much better thananv words that can be written. The *bride and her maid wore dainty white, and the groom and groomsman were clad in conventional black. The house and table floral decorations were neat and beautiful. The bride and groom left for Brookfield in the afternoon, after being deluged withshowers of rice and old shoes.The happy couple were the recipients of some handsome presents,among which may be mentioned the following: couch, cake dish and berry bowl, cake dish, berry set, sugar and cream set, water set, sugar and cream set, set of cups and saucers, picture,lamp, cream mug, silver butter dish, berry spoon, set of tea-spoons, “Wedding Chimes, pair of towels, tablecloth aud napkins* Also the bridesmaid received a handsome gold cross and a pair of kid gloves, and the flower girl a dainty locket and chain, in both cases the donors being the bride and groom.The names of the guests, in addition to those already mentioned, are as follows: Mr. and Mrs. Berwickand Baby Berwick, of Hale; JamesParish, of Shenandoah, Iowa; together with the following from Laclede and vicinity: Mr, and Mrs. W. H. Glover, Mr. and Mrs. James Bassett, Mr*and Mrs. L. T. Rowland, Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Elliott, Sir. and Mrs*Webley, Sir. and Sirs. Stephen Bassett, Mr. and Mrs. A. SI. Walker, Sire. James Dick, Mrs. David Dick, Mrs. Bivens; Misses Ora, Mima, Lulu and Rubv Walker, Beatrice Dick, Esther Rowland, Grace and Blanche Bassett; Messrs. S. L, SIcGarraugh, Roy Rowland, George Farrar, Willie aud Robbie Bassett, Arthur and Harry Glover and Ezra Webley.
