V. .jr. -Candles Light Vows By Tortorete, KroppJri* .J- » .Miss Joanne Tortorete, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. J. Tortorete, became the bride of Mr, Maurice A. Kropp, son of Col. arid Mrs.- R.A. Kropp of Sumter, South Catalina on June 11,1977 at a candlelight ceremonv m Emmanuel Episcopal Church, the Reiv Hunter M. Morris officiating.Miss Tortorete is a 1973 graduate of Lockhart High School and received her SB.A. in drama from Southwest Texas State Lfmversity in May of 1977. She is presently employed as Activities Director at the Four Seasons Nursing Home in Austin.{• Mr. Kropp is a graduate of Lakenheath ■American High School, Suffolk County, England, has attended the University of Ohio and Southwest Texas State University. He is presently employed by theWoodcreek Corporation of Wimberley.^ • •Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a princess style gown fashioned of candlelight organza and cluny lace. The front of the gown was adorned with a Victorian style bib of cluny lace and a squared lace yoke decorated the back. A narrow ruffle of lace edged the high neckline and the long fitted lace sleeves. Venise lace appliques embroidered with pearls decorated die full skirt and attached chapel train, while pearl beading enhanced the bib and sleeves of the gown. The hemline of the gown and train was trimmed with a deep raffle of cluny lace. Her veil was a mantilla of candlelight illusion and cluny lace draped softly over an organza cap decorated with pearl beading. She carried ainosegay of mixed flowers including tiny pink and yellow rosebuds, daisies and cornflowers.. .Attending. Miss Tortorete as maid, of honor was Miss ■ Nancy Price of El Paso.of the.groom, were bridesmaids.^ The attendants wore Victorian Style long sleeved gowns of sea blue with a yoke of candlelight cluny lace. A wide panel of matching lace extended from the yoke down the front where it became part of the deep ruffle around the hemline. Sea blue ribbons adorned with blue daisies were worn in their hair while they carried nosegays of •;blue daisies trimmed with the same sea blue ribbon.•• *:Mr. Charles Chapa of Corpus Christi served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Darrell Robinson of San Marcos and Mr. Marcus Weems of West Columbia. Mr. Thom Jackson of Austin and Mr. David . Tortorete, brother of the bride, served as ushers. Miss Mary Rucker and Miss Patti Fielder were acolytes and Mrs. Jim Crouch was the organist. Miss Linda Johnston of San Antonio registered the guests.For the wedding, the altar was decorated with a mixed arrangement of killian daisies, stock, statice, carnations, and cornflowers forming a background for the cross and brass altar candles. Can-dlelabrum decorated with greenery andribbons and containing white tapers flanked the altar.. Candles provided the only light inside the church while the last rays of the setting sun accentuated the colors of the stained glass chancel window over the altar.; Following the ceremony, a reception was held in St. Marys parish hall. .The bride’s table was centered with a three tier wedding cake frosted in white anddecorated with delicate blue sugar spun roses and topped with wedding bells. On each side of the cake, silver candelabrum entwined with blue daisies and greenery held tall white tapers. A silver, coffee service and. punch bowl were placed at opposite ends of the bride’s table. A tall arrangement of blue daisies, statice, cornflowers, yellow rosebuds, and baby’s breath flanked by four silver candlesticks containing white tapers centered the table ' from which finger sandwiches, hot hors d’oeuvres, bridal mints, and champagne were served. The gift table was decorated with tall wrought iron double hurrican Lamps entwined with blue daisies, statice, lemon leaves, and baby’s breath. Membersof the house party were Mrs. Bart. Tabor, Mis. Rodger Haug, Mrs, Jim Fielder, Mrs, W;R Johnson of San Antonio, Miss Carol Colbath of Austin, and Miss Stephanie Wilson.
