Wedding BellsHa^es-RumboltThe chuich of the Sacred Heart, Petries, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on the morning of June 29,when Mr. Louis Rumbolt.of Corner Brook, led to the altar Miss E l.en Hayes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Hayes, of Petries. The Nuptial Mass was celebrated by the pastor, Rev. Fr. Curran. The bride was charmingly dressed in blue lavender georgette with picture hat, and her bridal bouquet was cornatipns, orange blossoms, and ferns. Miss Florence Hayes, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and was dressed in peach georgette, while Mr. Eugene Rumbolt, brother of the groom, was best man. The wedding march was played by MissEsther Hayes.After the ceremony the happy couple amid showers of rice and good wishes drove to the home ofthe bride’s parents where sumptuous breakfast was partaken off by the immediate friends of the bride and groom. The wedding was held in the Cecilian Theatie in the night at which about one hundred and fifty persons were present. After the supper the health of the bride and groom was drank and several toasts followed in which all had [nothing but good wishes tooffer the newly married couple.The wedding presents were valuable and numerous which goes to show the popularity and esteem in whichthe bride and groom are held. They included silver, glass, linen, etc. The grooms present to the• v * -1 Abride was a gold pendant and chain,and the wedding cake was made atCurling, the gift of the bride’s uncle, Mr. Thos. Hayes. During supper the guests were photographed. Dancing continued until two o’clock in the morning when special coach took those of any distance to their homes and as the guests dispersed all joined in singing “They are jolly good fellows.” Mr. and Mrs. Rumbolt proceeds by the next Sagona to Fort Saundeis on a visit to the groom’s parents, where they will spend their honeymoon.. After which they will reside at Corner Brook.
