Edwin Huss is Lotta, the actress, who was supposed to be in England. The story, it is said, was told by a wel known Washington lady whom Mr. Hussl wanted to many. Efforts were made to interview the lady on the subject, but she refused to talk, so it is impossible tto verify the report. The story is that Lotta was deeply in love with Mr. Huss, but Mr. Huss loved the Washington lady referred to. The latter is to be married to a gentleman from Connecticut. According to the story, when Huss found his suit was hopeless, he remembered that . Lotta doted on him, and immedllttiy after she left the country, June 0, he telegraphed her to return and all would be forgiven, or words to that effect. She gave her mother the slip and returned incognito, reaching New York Saturday night and coming here Sunday night The marriage is said to have been performed by Rev. T. D. Power, but no information can be obtained from him, as he and his wife went out of town.Mr. Huss is an Englishman by birth, but a graduate of the naval academy. He left the j navy and was in the dramatic business for a j while. He is said to have saved Lotta’s life i onc e at Lake George, and that her fancy for j him dates from that. H© has recently had a fortune of $150,000 left him by English relatives. He is tall, fair and handsome, and well known here. People are incredulous about Lotta’s ability to come here from England and get married without detection, but no Charlotte Crabtree is known in Washington. •
