The employees and staff at Olathe Ready Mix honored the company founder at a picnic last Saturday at Cedar Lake.Arthur J. Martin founded the company in 1948 and served as its president for over 20 years. During that time the company grew from a small manually operated batch plant with used army trucks to a modern computerized facility with over 30 employees.Raymond Spencer and Roy Wallace who have been with the company since its inception presented Mr. and Mrs. Martin with a radar range as a gift from the employees.Ownership of Olathe Ready Mix remains in the family with major stockholders being his two sons, Peter Martin and Stephen Martin, and son-in-law, D.E. Davis, president.
