■Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Weems Sr. of West Columbia were surprised recently With an open house celebrating their 54th wedding anniversary.The open house was held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mason Weems, with Mrs. L. L, McMur-rcy and Mrs. Marcus Weems assisting as hostesses. Mr. and Mfs. Weems were greeted by all of their family and many friends who gathered for the evening.The couple was married In 1902, and have lived for their married life in .Brazoria anti West Columbia. Weems opened the S. S. Weems Hardware in this city many years back, and wasactive in the business until recent years.The home was decorated witharrangements of daisies) the flower which was used for the wedding decorations of the couple. Arrangements of red roses and chrysanthemums were , also placed at strategic places throughout the home.The refreshment table was centered with an arrangement of daisies, with this same decor oil the decorated cake. Wier of Houston; and Mr, and Mrs. Richard Weems of Dickinson.
