Recker, rural route Arlington, and Jeri Lynn Watson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cordes, also rural route Arlington, were married today, Saturday, July 3.The Rev. Richard Gaul, associate pastor, and the Rev. P. Houston, Arlington, performed the 1:30 p.m. double ring ceremony at Sacred Heart church, Oelwein.Cousins of the bride, Randy and Ronnie Woods, Fairbank, served as altar boys. Lor an Recker, Arlington, brother of the bride, was the lector.Ivory mums, pink carnations and baby’s breath decorated the church for the occasion whileivory and green bows marked thepews.Jani Frieden, friend of the bride, was the soloist, with Mrs. Cletus Huffman presiding at the organ. Songs were “Walk Hand in Hand,” “Wedding Song,” “Sometimes and “We've Only Just Begun.Escorted to the front of the church by her parents, the bride was attired in a floor-length gown of ivory organza with venise lace, The empire A-line gown featured a bodice trimmed with lace, sheer yoke with a high lace neckline, sheer bishop sleeves with a wide cuff, and double ruffle at the hemline of the skirt which featured an attached chapel-length train. A picture hat of braid was trimmed withmatching lace and seed pearls and secured the bride’s veil of imported illusion. She carried an arrangement of light pink and dark pink roses with baby’s breath and greenery.Mrs. Larry Moeller, Dublin, Cal,, sister of the bride, was bridesmatron, Susan Lehs, Rowley, friend of the bride, was bridesmaid, Mrs. Greg Smith, Iowa City, bridesmatron, and Cindee Rummel, Arlington, friend of the couple, bridesmaid. Junior bridesmaid was Lynn Recker, Arlington, sister of the bride.Green, ivory and pink sheer floral gowns over ivory satin with ivory lace were worn by the bridal attendants. The gowns had sweetheart necklines, trimmedwith ivory lace, puffed sleeves, princess lines, with ties at back and flounce at the bottom of the skirts trimmed in ivory lace. They wore pink carnations and ribbons in the hair. The junior bridesmaid wore a dust cap version of matching floral trimmed with ivory lace. All carried long-stemmed pink carnations with baby’s breath and green streamers.Best man was Eugene Bond, Arlington, friend of the couple. Tom Knickerbocker and David Bur rack, Arlington, and Rodney Wagner, West Union, friends of the couple, were the bridegroom’s attendants. Ushers' were Mike Recker, brother of the bride, and Dennis Cordes,Arlington, brother of the bridegroom.The bridegroom wore a heather green tuxedo, a white ruffled shirt with light green trim, and a boutonniere of pink roses, and baby’s breath. The other men wore heather green tuxedos with light green ruffled shirts and pink carnation and baby’s breath boutonnieres. Fathers of the couple wore pink rose and baby’s breath boutonnieres with their heather green tuxedos.Mrs. Recker wore a long-sleeved floor-length gown of ivory with a blue, pink and gold pattern, Mrs. Cordes wore a gown of ivory and blue sheer floral with long circular sleeves and trimmed with ivory lace.Both wore corsages of pink roses and baby's breath.Special guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. George Robinson, Maynard; Mrs. Florence Recker, Oelwein; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Behrens, Arlington, grandparents of the couple.After communion, long stemmed pink roses were presented to the mothers by the couple.A buffet luncheon was held at the Sportsmen club following the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Recker, Arlington, uncle and aunt of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Schoephoerster, Waterloo, uncle and aunt of the bridegroom, were the hosts. Mrs.Harry Chase had baked and decorated the five-tiered square cake which had a light green bottom with the other tiers in ivory accented with pink roses and iridescent pillars. A gold Chi Rho cross topped the cake. Ivory and light green lace with pink roses surrounded the cake. Mrs. Lyle Recker, Arlington, and Mrs. Pete Reeser, Edmond, Okla., aunts of the bride, cut the cake.Suellen Short, Oelwein, friend of the bride, was at the guest book, Mrs, Lorenz Behrens, Eldridge, aunt of the bridegroom, poured the punch, Helping with the gifts were Mrs, Loran Recker, Arlington, sister-in-law of the bride, Julie Recker, Arlington, and Carla Reeser,Edmond, Okla., cousins of the bride.For a short wedding trip, the bride chose a white short-sleeved knit dress with blue accents. The couple will have a rural route Oelwein address. The bride, a 1973 graduate of Oelwein High and a 1976 graduate of Allen Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, will be employed at Oelwein Mercy Hospital after Aug. 1. The bridegroom, a 1973 graduate of Starmont High school, is a senior at Upper Iowa University, Fayette, and is engaged in farming near Arlington.*+- + +Mr. and Mrs. Cordes hosted a rehearsal supper at Joan and Al’s Supper club Friday night.
