University Baptist Church in Carbondale was the setting Saturday evening for the mar riage of Phyllis Rae Hearn to Michael E. Bragg. Rev. Robert Hastings officiat ed at the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert R. Hearn of Carbondale. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bragg, also of Carbondale. The bride wore a floor length organza gown fashioned with a scalloped bateau neckline and long tapered sleeves. The suft full skirt was embroidered with Alencon lace and appliques trimmed the detachable lace paneled chapel train. It was ac cented with a bow detail. She wore a fingertip veil of silk illusion, secured by a crown of seed pearls, and crystals. Her bouquet was a cascade of white carnations and lilies of the valley. Carol Phillips, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Mrs. David Fliger was bridesmaid. They wore identical light blue, floor length gowns of peau de soie. Their headpieces were tier veils attached to combs trimmed with a row of pearls. They carried cascades of blue and white carnations. Jeffrey W. Cover was best man. James W. McKinney was groomsman. Ushers were Ron ald Hearn, brother of the bride, and Jack Hunter. Laura Goodman, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl, and David Mataya, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer. Sherry Cannon, niece of the bridegroom, registered the guests. Serving at the recep tion were Frances Arnold, Mary Ann Hall and Linda Vantrease. Also assisting were Mrs. James Harbison and Mrs. James Im hoff. Brenda Hall provided the or gan music. A reception was held in the church Fellowship Hall follow ing the ceremony. The bride is a 1964 graduate of University High School. She is attending Southern Illinois University, majoring in busi ness education. She is employ ed at the Office of Student Work and Financial Assistance. The bridegroom was graduat ed from Carbondale Commun ity High School in 1964. He is attending SIU where he is a pre-law student. He is working part time for Earl Bragg and Son, Cement Contractors. Following a wedding trip to St. Louis, Mo., the couple will be at home at Rt. 4, Carbon dale, after Tuesday, July 5. Mrs. Michael E. Bragg (Alpha)
