It tells of Gastonia's Robert Gurney, nationally known manufacturer and philanthropist, who arrived in this country forty years-ago from his native Latvia and set out from scratch to build his vast industrial interests. Today he operotcs six textile plants with more than 3000 employees, doing a business lliat runs into more than 520 million a year.
