Vickie Rae King, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V. A. King of Greenville, became the bride of Larry Wilson Turner, son of Wilson Turner and the late Mrs. Turner of Greenville, June 7 at 7 p.m. at Parkview Baptist Church. Rev. Rolfe Dorsey officiated as the double-ring ceremony. Jon Mills sang “Wedding Prayer and “O Promise Me . He was Accompanied by Mrs. J. C. Oakes, organist. Ivy covered candelabra flanked baskets of magnolias at the altar. The bride and groom knelt on a white prayer Lenell. The bride was given in marriage by her father and mother. She wore a gown of silk Oyeavas with a portrait neckline outlined with re-embroidered lace and seed pearls.The long sleeves spended in a flared cult and the skirt s extended into a cathedral train. Her veil of illusion was finger-tip length and was attached 9.4 bandeau of lace. She carried a small bouquet of shasta daisies atop a satin-covered Bible. Mrs. Terry Franklin of Greenville, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Teresa Peacock, Chevy Perdue and Martha Martin, all of Greenville. The attendants wore yellow plaid Bingham dresses with fitted bodices and gathered skirts. They carried yellow shasta daisies tied with matching ribbons. The groom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Hilly Tindall, Randy Walker and Charles McCurdy of Greenwood, brother-in-law of the bride. The mother of the bride wore a pastel blue dress with a daisy corsage. The groom’s step-mother wore a yellow knit dress with a daisy corsage. The reception was held in Fellowship Hall at the church. Yellow and white flowers in silver containers were used in the reception room. The bride's table was covered with a white linen cloth and held the bride's three-tiered wedding cake which was decorated in yellow and topped with a almature bride and groom. The groom's chocolate cake was rimmed in yellow. After a wedding up to Hot Springs the couple is at home in Columbus. Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Brantley, the bride's grandparents, and Mrs. John Skelton, the bride's aunt, all from Indianola, and Mrs. Charles McCurdy of Greenwood, the bride's sister. On the eve of the wedding Mr. and Mrs. Turner entertained for their son and his fiancee with a rehearsal dinner at Morrisson's Cafeteria in the private dining room.
