Dr. B. J. {Simmons, the colored physician ot this city, was married to Peronia Sluter, a daughter of Alonza Slater, the well-known carpenter, last Wednesday night. The marriage was a run away match, on account of pa rental objection, as they wanted their laughter to finish her education in a college in Virginia,which .'lie* had been attending. The marriage created much interest among the negroes, as both parties are among the most intelligent ol their race.
