The orig- | inal switch hoard, which is si ill In existence, is a maze of wires and batteries. It was installed by Joe Bednar, who al the time of his retirement was a meber of the telephone family but was then working for the electriccompany.There were five original stock holders, Dr. A. H. Ketchum, W. B. Templeman, R. A. Horiock, J. M. Shaw and Dr. Tom Foster. They each owned $1,000 worth of stm'k.There was an agreementamong the stockholders that should any one of them wish to get of their stock or if any oneshould die, that the remaining stockholders would have the privilege of buying the stock. I, the property was inherited bv ; j his widow, Mrs. Annie Foster Ii Templeman.The first telephone office was J |;over the First National Bank.! There were 35 original subscribers. Miss Jessie Camp, later| Mrs. Louis Chinski, was the first1 switchboard operator.Several vears ago Mrs. Tern- j pieman sold her interests in the j company to her niece, the late iMrs. Jas. F. Martin and Mr Martin.
