McGavock and Miss Eva A. Gilliam were married on February 2, 1913, in Sayre, Oklahoma. They came to Silverton on January 8, 1917, with all their household goods in a covered wagon, driving their livestock before them. The trip took eight days.To this union nine children were born, five of whom are living. They are Mrs. Gladys Davis, anc Vade McGavock of Tulia; Mrs. Ruth Mowery of Anaheim, California; E. H.
