was honored with a miscellaneous shower at the Catholic Parish Gym from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 19.The guests were registered by Miss Kathy Machart of Houston. Gifts were received and displayed by Misses Ruby Fuentes, Louise Valis, Clara Jaehne, Judy Mayer and Mrs. Barbara Michalec, sister of the bride, and were recorded by Miss Isabel Fuentes.The honoree was wearing a blue linen dress and was presented a corsage of red carnations. The mothers of the affianced couple, Mrs. Edmund Greive in a brown illusion lace over taffeta sheath dress and Mrs. Ann Tronicek in a two piece wool suit, and grandmothers, Mrs. Joe Tronicek, Mrs. Henry Greive and Mrs. Adam Wendel, in navy blue were presented corsages of white carnations.Sherry Buesing escorted Miss Greive to her place of honor to the strains of the bridal march, played by Rosalie Patekat the piano.An entertaining program was presented under the direction of Miss Judy Mayer. Rosalie Patek, Paula Sofka, and Doris Aschenbeck with Margie Weill at the piano sang “Beautiful Love” and “Moon River”. Readings were presented by Mrs. Barbara Michalec and Miss Kathy Maehart entitled “A Secret” and “Advice To TheBride-To-Be”.Miss Greive then thanked the hostesses and guests and invited everyone to their Wedding Mass Saturday, February 1 at 8:30 a.m., after which themany lovely gifts were viewed.The refreshment table was laid with a white Madeira cutwork cloth centered with a cupid arrangement, carryingout the valentine theme in red and white. The large white styrafoam heart, sprinkled with tiny red hearts, formed the background for the red carnations and cupid figurines with a green net umbrella in the center.The white frosted sheet cake was centered with two hearts and red roses in each corner. The inscription on the cake read “Judy and Kenneth”. The base of the cake was encircled with a red satin ruffle. Mrs. Barbara Michalec served the cake while Miss Isabel Fuentes served the coffee. They were assisted in serving by Misses Ruby Fuentes, Kathy Machart, Rosalie Patek, Clara Jaehne and Judy Mayer.The hostesses’ gift to the honoree was chinaware andcrystal.
