Mr. and Mrs. George PishneyGolden Day forDistrict CoupleGeorge and Anna Pishney, married Jan. 12, 1915 at St. Edward's Church, Fayette City, observed their golden wedding anniversary on Jan. 17, with a highmass, dinner and reception.Gold chrysanthemums were placed on the altar at Transfiguration R. C. Church, Mononga-hela, for the mass. The Rev. Gerald Lutz officiated. The couple received a Messing after mass.Dinner was served to the immediate family and a recepton took place from 3 to 7 p.m. at their home in Forward Twp., Monongahela R. D. Approximately 15(1 guests attended.The table centerpiece was an arrangement of gold chrysanthemums and roses topped with a large gold ‘50 ” Bells, streamers and gold ornaments were featured throughout the home and vases of Rowers, sent by neighbors, were placed in the dining room. The children and grandchildren were hostesses.Four-tier CakeA four-tiered cake, decorated in gold rosettes, bells and an angel, was baked by a daughter, Mrs Eugene Fine.Mrs. Pishney wore a dress of aqua and gold brocade and corsage of gold chrysanthemums.The couple has seven children: Floyd Pishney, Pleasant Hill Acres, Monongahela R. D 2; Mrs. Eugene (Henrietta) Fine, Monongahela R. D 1; Mrs. Pete (Wilhelmina) Fet-chen, Bunola; George Pishney Jr., Monongahela R. D. 1; Mrs. Nicholas (Martha) ButeUa, Od-enton, Md; Mrs. Paul (Alberta) Nosal. Donora; and Mrs Howard (Margaret) Gerhard, Bronx. N. Y. Mrs Gerhard was unable to attend the event. There are 25 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.Gold Bell CorsagesFamily members wore corsages of gold bells and as each woman guest arrived, she wasalso given a golden wedding bell corsage, made by a daugh-ter-m-law. Pictures were taken during the day.In addition to their many gifts, the couple also received congratulations from New York and Ohio relatives.The party was a gift from the children who also presented their mother with a gold roeker and their father with a tilt-back chair.
