10 - THE SHOAL LAKE STAR, TUESDAY, JANUARY 25,1994Ulrich - Isaak exchange wedding vowsMerlin and Glenda Isaak will reside in Shoal LakeThe beautiful farm yard-site of Everett and Audrey Gurr in the R.M. of Hamiota, Man., provided a natural setting on Sept. 4, 1993 at 4:00 p.m. for the marriage of Glenda Marie, daughter of Carman and Helen Ulrich, Strathclair, to Merlin Noel, son of George and Joy Isaak of Shoal Lake. A huge white tent which housed the bridal party and 192 wedding guests, had a clear plastic front which gave a perfect view of a yard full of summer flowers. Baskets of pottedplants were placed at the front of the tent and helium-filled red, white and black balloons decorated the top of the tent.Gordon McDonald of Strathclair and Sheldon Gurr of Brandon, supervised the parking of cars. Family members were ushered to their seats by Clinton and Arlen Isaak, nephews of the bride and groom. Pastor George Isaak, father of the groom, officiated. Organist, Mrs. Carol Knight of Neepawa, accompanied Steve White,brother-in-law of the bride, who sang, “Song for a Christian Wedding* and Mrs. Audrey Gurr, who rendered, “Wedding Song” during the signing of the register.The bride, given in marriage by her father and mother, looked radiant in her chosen floor length lined polyester nylon sheer gown with a V-neck. The fitted bodice featured an empire waistline with an A-line skirt. Chantilly lace, sequins and seed pearls cascaded down the front and hemline of the gown which featured a chapel length train. The sheer sleeves were appliqued with lace rosettes and pearls. She wore a satin hat decorated with chantilly lace and beaded with seed pearls which had an attached nylon tulle veil at the back. Her only jewellery was a single button pearl necklace and she carried a gorgeous bouquet of one dozen red roses with two white lilies in the centre.Mrs. Brenda Isaak, twin-sister of the bride, was matron of honour. Ms. Sharia Gurr, friend of the bride, was bridesmaid. Both wore identical white linen streetlength dresses with black linen jackets. They carried three red roses attached to white fans. Sharia Isaak, niece of the bride and groom, was the flower girl. She wore a red and white rayon floor length dress with full skirt and pouffed sleeves, and carried a basket of red silk roses.The groom wore a double-breasted black suit, white shirt with a red satin tie. His boutonniere was two red rosebuds.David Isaak, brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsman was Philip Isaak, cousin of the groom. Both men wore identical black, double-breasted suits with white shirts and red satin ties. Their boutonnieres were a single red rosebud. Ring bearer, Dustin Kucher, nephew of the groom, wore a black tuxedo featuring a white shirt and redcummerbund.The mother of the bride chose a royal blue polyester sheer street length dress with pleated skirt which was accented with a corsage of white carnations. The groom’s mother wore arayon/acetate pink and white suit featuring pearls and lace on the jacket. A corsage of pink carnations completed the outfit.Following the ceremony, Country Catering of Hamiota, provided a delicious meal. Attending the guest book were Jennifer Isaak, sister of the groom, and Travis Isaak, nephew of the bride and groom. Everett Gurr ably introduced the many guests and family members who wished to share memories and give well wishes to the couple. Special music was provided by soloist Rick Thom.The happy couple are farming in the R.M. of Shoal Lake. The bride is pursuing a Bachelor of Nursing degree while the groom is employed at the Shoal Lake Veterinary Clinic. Wedding guests were from Fort Frances, Ont., Terrace, B.C., Estevan, Carlyle, Lampman, Waldheim, Swift Current, Moose Jaw and Nipawin, Sask., Thompson, Brandon, Austin, Rivers, Winnipeg, Neepawa, Strathclair, Shoal Lake and Hamiota, Man.Sympathy is extended to the family, other relatives and friends of Ken Wersh, 59,Strathclairher niece Wendy and cousin Mae Dellar and later to visit her brother Tom in Winnipeg.Brandon.
