IMcDonald County Day Plans For Film Showing CompletedPlans have been completed for the observance here Friday of “McDonald county clay to be held in conjunction with the initial showing of the motion picture, “Jesse James/’Harley Fryer, manager of the Fox theater, and Earl Brown, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, spent yesterday in McDonald county, inviting officials of six towns of the county to participate in the event.Mayors, newspaper editors and Chamber of Commerce officials from Pineville, Goodman, Anderson, Noel, Southwest City and Banagan have been invited here to view the picture. They will be guests of the Chamber of Commerce at a 6 o’clock dinner at the Connor hotel, and will attend a 7 o’clock showing of the picture in a group.It was not considered practical to invite all of the many persons who had a part in the filming of the picture to the dinner, so it was limited to special groups.Brown reported considerable enthusiasm in McDonald county concerning the opening of the picture here. Several schools plan to send bus loads of children here Friday morning to see the picture, and a basketball game scheduled at Pine-ville Friday night has been postponed.The first showing of “Jesse James” will be at 10 o’clock Friday morning, Fryer has announced. The early show has been added for the convenience of the school children from McDonald county, but anyone may attend.Mayor Orville P. Mahoney last week issued a proclamation designating Friday as “McDonald county day,” in honor of “the hundreds of citizens of McDonald county, whose untiring efforts made the filming of the ‘Jesse James’ picture a success.”“This honor,” Mahoney said, “is dedicated in view of the fact that this picture has gained first place in prominence in motion picture theaters all over the United States and in so doing has presented the beauty of the Ozarks in technicolor for the whole world to view.”Bocal persons may make reservations for the dinner honoring the McDonald county officials by calling the Chamber of Commerce office by noon Friday.The following from the six McDonald county communities have been invited,to attend the dinner:Pineville—F.
