Reception.There Is no one, perhaps, who has endeared himself to the Chautauquans of this eity by his many kindnesses ami thoughtful attention to their wants nore than T H Leavitt.When it was announced he had taken uato himself a helpmeet it was resolved to tender the bride a cordial welcome to the capital city, accordingly, by previous arrangment, the reg- j ular circle which met in Sup’t Jones’ rooms at the state house last evening, was merged Into an informal reception for the happy couple.The C. L. 8. C. members and friends were out iu full force, each vieiug to make the eveniug an enjoyable one. nMcsdames Elliott, Sewell and Calvert, committee on reception, presented each guest with a beautiful boutouniere, followed by an introduction to Mrs. Leavitt who gracefuliv acknowledged all congratulations and soon convinced all that Mr. L. bad made a wise choice in his life partner.Towards the closing hours of the evening all present engaged in “The Chautauqua ‘JO Question Game” that proved a lively and vsry entertaining one, when the happy companydispersed.
