45 years ago* Jan. 19,1961 Donaid Whyte is one of 74 violinists in the 124-pieee National Youth Orchestra which played at several Ontario locations during the holidays. Whyte is currently attending university in Regina and was also assistant conceit master of the orchestra. Const. E. Watts fired a warning shot at a stolen car found racing through town. He chased it for a while and tried to cut it off. When it was apparent the teen thieves were not going to stop at Watts’ one-car barricade, he fired a shot. The car was recovered in Brandon, where it was stolen, the following day. Ottawa has awarded a $20,000 contract to a Brandon firm to build a 33- by 36-foot one-storey concrete post office in Rapid City.
