*Judy Martin and .Gary Holland Wed SaturdayThe Federated Church of Sycamore was the scene of a charming midwinter : wedding, Saturday, January 18,- at 7;30 o’clock, when Judy Kay, Martin, daughter of Mrs. Helen Plesa of Sycamore, and Gary Dean Holland, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Holland, Sr.,of rural Sycamore, exchanged«their marriage vows.Rev. H.’L. Michael performed j the impressive double ring service j by candlelight. Baskets of all-(white blossoms and lighted branched candelabra beautified the sanctuary, and white satin bows marked the pews of the white carpeted bridal aisle.Mrs. Frank Gustafson presided at the organ, playing lovely nup-■ tial music as the guests were being seated, and also accompanied the guest vocalist, George Dean, who \ery effectively sang “Because,” “Through the Years,” and “The Lord’s Prayer,” the latter being sung as the couple knelt at the altar.\ The attractive young bride entered the church with her uncle,: Charles Lyman of DeKalb, who gave her in marriage. She - was radiant in her lovely floor length gown styled of lace tulle over white satin and fashioned with flowing train, long pointed sleeves*' and scooped neckline. A seed pearl headdress held her fingertip veil in place and she carried a cascade bouquet of white carnations centered with red roses.The bride’s only sister, Mrs. Lowell Johnson of Rockford, served as matron of honor, wearing a blue nylon net over satin gown,complemented by a matching hat j and mitts. In her cascade bou- j Jquet were tinted blue white car-! nations. . 1Attending the groom was his only brothel*, George Holland, Jr., and the ushers were Robert Lind-gren, Robert Quigley and ElmerTroutman, all of Sycamore.Little Kathy Schafer of Aurora, the groom's cousin, was flower girl and was darling in her blue formal frock, with which she wore matching blue slippers. A band of white blossoms adorned her hair and she scattered rose petals in the path of the bride.George Plesa, the bride’s half brother, acted as ring bearer, wearing a tuxedo attire and carrying the rings on a white satin pillow.For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Plesa wore a biege knit suit, accented with brown accessories.The groom’s mother chose a navy blue ensemble with accessories of white.Both mothers had corsages of white carnations.A delightful reception followed the ceremony in the social parlors of the church, which were decorated with many white bells. Gracing the beautiful bridal table was a large three-tiered wedding cake ornamented on top with wedding bells. Iaghted tapers and floral arrangements also added beauty to the table setting.Sharon Erlewine registered theguests; Lou Ann Parsons cut and served the bride’s cake; Gail Holland, sister of the groom, served the groom’s cake; Sandra Watson and Dorothy Shorworth attended to the gifts; Carol Monry presided at the punch bowl; Gloria Holland, the groom's sister, and Mrs. Emmett Westlake poured; and Mrs. Charles Lyman, the bride’s aunt, and Mrs. James McLean, cousin of the bride, served the bridal table. Other assistants Included Mrs. Donald Haffner of Malta, Mrs. Donald Sharp, Janet Peterson and Mrs. Myrtle Binder.For their wedding trip, destination unknown, the new Mrs. Holland chose a navy sheath dress, complemented by red accessor-eis and a red rose corsage from her bridal bouquet. Upon their re. turn, they will be at home in theirnew apartment on the Barber-Greene Road.The bride and groom are both graduates of the Sycamore High School, the bride now being employed as cashier in the Ben Franklin store in Sycamore and her husband being an employee at Reed Brother* Implement* in
