ANNIVERSARY PARTY ATKAYUGA.The celebration of the golden wedding of Mr. and Mr*. A. Claydon proved a successful Back to Kayuga’* evening on the 27th ultimo, when at the invitation of their family, 200 guests assembled at a party in the village hall to celebrate the important anniversary. The tables were neatly arranged under a canopy of multi-coloured ribbons. Tho beautiful three-decker cake. iced, and decorated with gold leaves and keys, was made and presented by Mr. W. Cross. The numerous presents, which Included cheques, wero arranged on a buffet extending along the length of the hall. The che.ii was occupied by Mr. Dennison. of Mascot. As the bridal couple advanced to their places at the table they were greeted with musical honours. When appetites had been appeased, . the chairman proposed the health of the Bride and Bridegroom and referred to the high esteem in which they and their family were held. The toast was honoured with enthusiasm.Mr. Claydon. responding on behalf of his wife and himself, expressed his great pleasure at seeing so many friends present and thanked them for the enthusiastic manner In which they had honored the toast He said it was most comforting to his wife and himself that all the members of their family, consisting of three sons ana four daughters, were present with them that evening, in addition to between 70 and 80 relatives, including 24 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.After the hall had been cleared the exuberance of youthful glee found expression in dancing. Mrs. Castledlne presiding at tho piano. Misa Dorothy Claydon. of Lorn, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claydon, gave several exhibitions of step dancing.Mr. Claydon Is a native of Kayugn und occupies the ancestral home Mrs. Claydon was born at Glennie'« Creek, and is a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Horne. They were married at the Methodist Church. Muswell-brook. by the Rev. W Brown. The children of the marriage are Messrs Harold. Donald. William. Mesdames W Cross. E. Allen. H Bruce, and D.
