1HE XVOYAL iVlAHBIAGB.—BENEFACTIONS TO THE Poor.—The Law Society of Lincoln’s-inn have, with a generosity that entitles them to all praise, given 400 tickets, of the value of 2s. 6d. each, in order to provide a similar number of deserving poor with a good substantial dinner in commemoration of the nuptials of her Royal Highness the Princess Royal. Two hundred of these tickets are to be disposed of among the out-patients of King’s College Hospital, and the distribution on the part of the committee has been undertaken by the reverend the rector of the parish of St. Clement Danes and T. Godfrey Sambrooke, Esq. It is earnestly to be hoped that the sick poor of other parishes will not be forgotten on such a general rejoicing, and that the appropriate generosity of the hon. benchers will be imitated by all who are able to make pleasant to the memories of^hose whose lot is cast in deep poverty the nuptials of England’s eldest daughter.The Royal Wedding.—It is generally understood that the whole of the clerks, warehouse keepers, mechanics, c., employed in the London Docks, St. Katharine Dock, and the East India Docks, Blackwall, will not be employed on Monday next, and that a general holiday will be observed in each place. Arrangements are being made at the East India House, Leadenhall-street, the Royal Mint, the Custom House, and other government establishments, in honour of the Royal marriage. The men will be paid for tbeir loss of time. The clerks and labourers employed at the wharfs and warehouses on either side of the river below bridge will cease work for the day, and the chief portion of the tradespeople at the west-end of the metropolis intend to close their shops in the afternoon.n. a__________»_ a_____ _____
