A t Informal Tea Sunday■ At an ihfofmal tea given in their home Sunday afternoon, Jfift. 13, Mr. and Mrs, J. M, Turner announced the marriage £f their daughter,'Joyce, to G. L.'Shfmek of Santa Sosa, Texas. The couple were married June 22, 1945, at the Methodist parsonage in Sayre, Okla., by Rev. J. W. Oden of that city.Mrs. Shimek's chosen colors, pink and white, were carried put throughout the tea. The entrance arch was decorated With pink wedding bells suspended by white satin ribbons and bducjuet* of carnations in corresponding colors were used throughout the receiving rooms as decorations.The tea table was lighted withBride-Elect Is ffimored bv YWAThe Central Baptist church rooms Were prettily decorated In pink and White Thursday evening when the Y* W. A. girls of the church entertained at a shower In honor of Bride-elect Miss Clara Jane Wetherred.Miss Weatherred, the daughter of Mffi. W, C, Weatherred of Kress, Texas, 'announced her engagement to Carl Sexton, son of J. W. Sexton of pampa the first of the month.' The table was decorated with pink atiti white candles and a centerpiece of pink sweet peas and white narcissus in a white bowl. A green layer cake with red rose decorations was served to the guests with the punch. The bride's table, holding the many lovely gifts presented to Miss Weatherred. was also decorated in plilk and white. The hostesses presented a corsage of pink carnations to the bride-elect.Hostesses for the party included Miss Tessic Killian, who kept the bride's book, Miss Bobble Killian, Miss' Evelyn Patterson, who was in chfttge of the gifts, Miss Maxine Patterson, Miss Jeannette McCollum, serving the punch, and Miss Frances Sllcott. The hostesses, in formals,. wore pick or white carnation corsages. Miss Bobbie Killianpihk candles around a centerpiece of. fefh and pink carnations encircling two white bells. The pink and white colors were also carried out in* the cake and sandwiches. A small dove perchbd on top each piece ofcake carried the announcement of the June marriage.Mrs. J. C. Powell. Jr., the former Miss Helen GiIlham, of Brownfleld, presided over the tea table, and Miss Eugenia Phelps of Pampa had charge of registering guests in the pink, bell-shaped bride's book.Miss Florence Meniman and Mrs. Herman Van Sickle, aunts of the bride, Were co-hostesses with Mrs. Turner.About 30 guests called during the afternoon.Mrs. Shimek is a graduate of Pampa high school Where she was a member of the band and the a capella choir. She later attended Southwestern university at Georgetown, Texas. 'Mr. Shimek graduated in 1939 from Santa Rosa high school and enlisted in the U. S. navy early in 1941. He also attended Southwestern university and (Oklahoma university in Norman. At the present time he is at the separation center at Camp Wallace where he expects to receive his discharge soon.Mr. and Mrs. Shimek plan to make their home temporarily in Austin; where Mr. Shimek will continue his college work at the uni-
