Nine Fawns Here Enroute to North Manitou /.DEER PROCURED FROM STATE TO HELP STOCK OFF SHORE TERRITORYNine fawns, eight doe and ono bunk, all about a year old, spem the night in the city 011 their way from their former homes in the state forest at: Mnoising to their new home on the North Manitou Island.The Manitou Island Association, an organization of island property j owners, bought these surplus deer i from the §tate and will turn them loose on North Manitou. iThe nine animals were shipped by express in individual shipping cases. They reached here Tuesday afternoon and were fed and watered by the local express employes. This morning they were transhipped to Provemonl from ( 'tirhere they will be trucked to Le- 1 land, At Lei and they will be placed oil the boat for the North Manitou. The deer were in excellent condition and showed little weariness or concern over their long journey.11 1
