Nine Fawns Stp Here Enroute to North ManitouDEER PROCURED FROM STATE TO HELP STOCK OFF SHORE TERRITORYNine fawns, eight doe and ono buck, all about a year old, spenv the night in the city on their way from their former homes in the state forest at Munising to their new home on the North Manitou Island.The Manitou Island Association, an organization of island property owners, bought these surplus deer from the %tate and will turn them loose on North Manitou.The nine animals were shipped by express in individual shipping cases. They reached here Tuesday afternoon and were fed and watered by the local express employes. This morning they were transhipped to Provemonl from #hera they will be trucked to Iceland. At Lei and they will be placed on the boat for the North Manitou. The deer were in excellent condition and showed little weariness or concern over their long journey.
