J. If. King, of Byfield. took place ut St. Paul's Church, Stanley, on the 11th Inst., nnd the alliance of families bo long-identified with the district made the event, of more than ordinary interest. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Robert Penty. assisted by the Rev. J. Tryon-WUson of Burnle. with full choral service, Mrs. Penty presiding at the organ.The bride wore a very handsome dress nnd veil of white tiowered Japanese silk, trimmed with silk lace, chiffon. and orange blossom, and carried a shower bouquet of white sweet pea nnd curnutions. They also wore gold brooches, with names engraved, the gifts of the bridegroom. The bride was given away by her brother (Mr. H. C. E. Me«lwin 1, and Mr. Frank King noted ns l»est man. the groomsmen being Mr. Charles King. Mr. C. S.
