Mrs. Clem Lacy Given Separation and $1,625—They Eloped andMarried.The suit of Mrs. Clement L. LacyT • , pfor divorce and alimony was tried in the circuit court at Sullivan, Ind., Thursday. She was granted a legal separation and was given §1,025 alimony.The allegations were that of desertion and failure to provide. Her maiden name, Mabel L. Beckett, was restored.Mr. Lacy’s home is in this city hut he is at present in California. He was one of the heirs to the estate of the late Clement Lee, whose will was contested in the circuit court here some time ago.Young’ Lacy and Miss Beckett, who is highly connected in Sullivan county, eloped to Charleston, 111., and were married in September, 1900.. They intended to keep their marriage secret for a time but a newspaper correspondent of that city spoiled their plans.A few months ago their infant child died, since which time Mr. Lacy has not visited Sullivan.
