Wedding celebratedBig Springs Baptist Church, rural Alcester, was the setting for the marriage of Amanda Larson and Nick Gengler. The double-ring ceremony was Saturday, July 21, 2001 with Rev. Daryl Runion officiating.Parents of the couple are Blake and Roxanne Larson of Akron and Bill and Patsy Gengler of LeMars.The bride was escorted by her father down the aisle which was decorated with silver bows. She wore a white, pearl-strapped gown. The fitted bodice was adorned with sequins and pearls. The skirt was made of five layers of tulle and rayon adorned with sequins and pearls throughout. The bride’s elbow-length veil was attached to a tiara of pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses, accented with periwinkle flowers and pearls.Maid of honor was Janel Larson, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Andrea Bartels, Leah Frerichs and Tara Hickey, friends of the bride. They wore periwinkle spaghetti-strapped gowns with matching shawls. Theflower girl, dressed in white, was Haley Jurgensen, cousin of the bride. Personal attendant was Melissa Husk, friend.The groom was attired in a black tuxedo with tails and platinum tie and vest. Best man was Joe Ebner, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Tom Galles, friend of the groom, Vince Bugg, friend of the couple and Dan Lehner, cousin of the groom. Ringbearer was Cameron Galles, friend of the groom. Candlelighters and ushers were David Larson, brother of the brother, and John Plueger,cousin of the bride. All men inthe wedding party were attired in tuxedoes matching the groom.Music was provided by Jenelle Schempp, pianist, and soloists Cheryl Plueger, aunt of the bride, and Bob Walrod, cousin of the groom.A reception followed the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. A dance was held in the evening at Brunsville.After a trip to Minneapolis, the couple is at home in Omaha.
