Maxine Babler, Howard W. Ward Wed in BellevilleMiss Maxine Leonia Babler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harlan G. Babler, Route 2, Belleville, became the bride of Howard Wesley Ward, Belleville, during a 2 p.m. nuptial massSaturday, Jan. 11, in St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, Belleville.The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David A. Ward, 214 Mitchell St., Belleville. Father Klink officiated for thedouble-ring ceremony.Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a floor-length, bouffant gown of Chantilly lace and taffeta, the lace bodic featuring a Sweetheart neckline, accented with seed pearls and crystals. A detachable train of lace-bordered taffeta adorned the back.A double crown tiarra heldher shoulder-length veil of illusion and she carried a bouquet of red roses and miniature white Starburst mums.Organist for the service was Mrs. Bette Fahey. Mrs. James Doyle, soloist, sang “O, Perfect Love*' and **0, Most Holy One.”Miss Shelby Jean Babler washer sister’s maid of honor,wearing a floor-length, empire A-line gown of Forest green velvet and chiffon, with flowers adorning the waist of the gown. She carried a single long-stemmed, green tinted Starburst mum.Bridesmaids were Miss Carol Ahrensmeyer, Madison, andMiss Patricia Holcomb, Monti-cello, wearing gowns like that of the maid of honor, but of maroon velvet. They carried pink and maroon tinted mums. The attendants wore headpieces which matched their gowns.Another sister of the bride, Stephanie J. Babler, was flower girl, wearing a dress identical to that of the bride, made by her mother. She carried a basket of green and pink Starburst mums.Gary Ziegler of Belleville was ring bearer.John Diederich, Belleville, served as best man, with Dale Ward and Dionne Babler, brothers of the couple, as groomsmen. Ushering were David Armstrong, Belleville, and Ralph R. Zimmerman and John Legler, Monticello.The bride’s mother chose apink chiffon and crepe dress,with black accessories, for her daughter’s wedding. Mrs. Ward wore a two-piece gold colored suit, with black accessories. Their corsages were of white carnations and red roses.Mrs. Donald Johnson cut the cake during the reception which followed the service, assisted by Misses Glenda and Gwendolyn Babler. Mrs. Alan Luch-singer and Fredesvinda FUentes served punch, and Miss Patricia Frank, coffee. Other servers were Mrs. Darris Bidling-maier and Miss Beveryly Christianson and Elizabeth Yamstad. Serving at the bridal table were Mrs. Pat McCluskey and Mrs. /Anna May Beutel Jr.Bradley Babler, brother of the bride, attended the guest book, and Evelyn Wirth and Susan Wirth were gift carriers.Guests included those from Beloit, Rockford, Waterloo, Madison, Richland Center, Lake Geneva, Chicago, Milwaukee, Baraboo, Platte vi lie, White water and Woodstock, 111., in addition to area towns.The newlyweds are residing in Belleville.A graduate of New Glarus High School, the bride attended the University of Wisconsin and is employed as sales secretary at Federal Refrigerator Manufacturing Company in Belleville.Her husband is a graduate of Belleville High School and is employed as a sheet metal worker at the Federal Refrigerator Company.
