TEN YEARS AGO Thursday, January 13,1938 Mrs. L. C. Thornton, attended funeral services for her brother Wallace Bellinger, 68, of Oskaloosa Kan, who died Jan. 3. Mr. Bellinger was a former resident of this county having lived on a farm north of Ware. John J. Trebben, 85, of Pomeroy father of T. J. Trebben of this city died at his home there Tuesday evening. He is survived by three sons and two daughters. Funeral services will be held at the Luth eran church in Pomeroy Thursday afternoon, Rev. Wmless: officiat ing, ‘Mr. and Mrs. Julius’ White ‘of Rolfe observed their 69th wedding anniversary Friday, Jan 7th, Mr. White is 90 and Mrs. White is 87, Mr. White started his career as a jeweler at the age of 14 and still continues to work at his bench in the shop operated in partnership, with his son, Carl J. White. . Marriage licentses were issued to Sam Richardson and Janice Peter son ‘of ‘Laurens; Ray Wessels and Elsie Siebels of Palmer; LeRoy Lanus and Edna Beuchle of Rolfe and Donald McClain and Arlene Fry of Pocahontas. Saturday evening following the Twin Lakes Conference basketball theallee conference football and basketball teams were announced. Hyder and Green from the local school were honored being placed on the tear in the center and guard positions respectively. Green also rated a berth on the conference football, team ‘as tackle being along with Travis who was placed at a guard positions * th.
