St John's Lutheran Church Is Scene for Wedding of Thelma Glasby, D. L. BeaverSt John’s Lutheran church was the setting tor the recent wedding of Thelma Jane Glasby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Glasby of 1728 Sanders and Donald L. Beaver of 212 South Park* He is the son of Mrs. Clarence Beaver of 1086 Townsend.The Rev. Nels H. She wore a white rose headband ^nd carried white roses I and ivy streamers on a pink veK| vet muff.Nancy, Joyce and Shirley Bea-il ver, sisters of the bridegroom,!! and Judy King were bridesmaids. They wore princess gowns of blue | velvet designed like the one worn by the maid of honor. They carried blue velvet muffs covered j| with white roses and wore white | rose headdresses.Kaye Murphy and Linda Parent, |j flower girls, cariied baskets of ij rose petals. Kaye wore a blue ! lace and net dress with a bouf--fanl skirt and a blue bonnet. Lin-'1 da wore a pink dress and bonnet in the same style.Lyle and Stanley Fraser wcre:| candle lighters.For her daughter’s wedding, I Mrs. Glasby chose an afternoon! dress of rose wine crepe, ashes-!1 of-roses pink accessories and a I! corsage of yellow Talisman roses. \ The bridegroom’s mother wore! an afternoon dress of black crepe, I white accessories and a red rosei corsage.Bud Glasgy, brother of the bride, acted as best man. Berkij and Ron Beaver, Vic Kelly and;j Jack Carpenter were ushers.A reception for about 200 guests was held at the church parlors.!IThe table was centered with' the four-lier wedding cake flanked :| by silver eanderabra. The cake, decorated with a scroll’ design and white roses, was topped with a;| miniature bridal couple surrounded with orange blossoms.Beverly Beaver, Caroly Stani-j ger and Terry Potter poured. Elizabeth Gilbert served and Patti Bauer had charge of the guest book.After a wedding trip to an undisclosed destination, the couple will live in Bozeman, where the bridegroom is a student at Montana State college, He Is a navy veteran, having served 38 months on the U.S.S. Essex on three Far East cruises. He is a Helena high school graduate.For traveling, the bride chose a pink crystaline dress, red rose velvet coat, pink hat, shoes and gloves and an orchid corsage.The bride, who was graduated from Helena Senior high school, has been- employed by Carlson Appliance.ficiated at the double-ring rites in the presence of .about 250 guests. Mrs. L; V. Harris, organist, played, traditional' nuptial selections and. accompanied Julie Harris and Jo Ann Risan, who sang The Lord's Prayer” Oh Promise Me” and “t Love You Truly as duets.Two candelabra and'a Christmas tree lighted the church. Two standards of Ophelia roses decorated each side of the altar. A pale blue’rihbon centered with an Ophelia rose marked each pew. An tfy and rose entwined arch, centered with, white and silver bells, decorated the altar.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a.princess-style gown of lace and embroidery featuring a Victorian feather design of satin brocade interspersed with silver metallic threads. A cascade-effect was achieved at the front of.the skirt with an overlay of imported rose-point lace. Other features of the gown were .a portrait necklinetrimmed with pearls, lace sleevesand a formal train.A • crown of pearls - held the bride’s fingertip veil of illusion. She carried white orchids with stramers of ivy and Stephanotis on a muff of brocade satin.
