Jr. Ilubertus was born in 1840 in Mar-tringen, Germany,ani he came to Amcri-a in 185*1, coming direct to Dansville ind has lived here ever since. He was a mtehcr, having learned his trade in tochcster at Zwiegcr’s market. He was he son dkMichacl Hubcrtus who died *\»b. 28th. 1S64. lie has one sister liv-ng, Mrs. Jacob Smith of this village and .wo brothers, John of Canisteo and 1 etcr)f Wellsvillc Mrs. Ilubertus was born n 1841 in Tholi, Germany, coming to Ymerica in 1852 with her parents, Mr. ind Mrs. Geo. Johantgcn, who died April 10, 1890. She has one brother living, Nick lohautgen of this village, two half sisters,IMrs. Joseph Myers and Mrs. Louis Myers, and two half brothers, Joseph and Fred Johantgcn. Mr. and Mrs. Ilubertus were married at St. Mary's church in this Village Jan. 9th, 1S66, by Father Albinper. They have had five children: One daughter Catherine, deceased and four sons living, Michael, John and George of this village and Urban of Buffalo. There are Jour grandchildren.Mr Hubcrtus lias always been considered one of our representative German citizens. His word was as good as his bondf and the respect in which he has been held has been shown by his having been {elected as oyerseer of the poor several yearsago, and by his appointment last fall by the town board to fill the vacancy in the same office caused by the death of Fredrick Durr.aI +% C Af*f imA
