New life membersGastonia American Legion Post 23 installed five new lifetime members Saturday night in ceremonies at the post. The men were chosen by a national selection board for their leadership contributions. They received the Legion's highest honor. Seated (Lto R) are Allen H. Sims and John C. Roberts. Standing (Lto R) are Everett J. Jones, Joe C. Gettys, Charles W. Hawkins and Cecil McFodden, post commander, congratulating the group.
