DEAD WOOD(By The Gazette’s Correspondent)Dead wood, Jan, 2.—We have h£d real cold Christmas holidays, and New Year’s Day was very dreary, snowing all day.Myrtle bowler and W. J. Goddard were married last Friday at Notikewin. They are living on their farm near North Star.John Nipholas has blood poisoning in both hands John Johnson took him down to Dixonville to Dr. Savage who treated his hands. We hope he will be well soon.A. A. Yleen and U. Carlson came in from their traplines last Saturday evening with quite a catch of Red and Cross foxes, coyotes and weasels.Enid Frith and Percy Simpson were married at Notikewin Dec. 29th and left for Berwyn with Bill Simpson, to take the train enroute to the coast to spend their honeymoon. Congratulations.The Doctor's Committee of the Deadwood District raffled off a gramophone in aid of the Doctor. John Johnson won the lucky number. They put on a dance afterwards and danced the Old Year out and the New Year in. All present reported a good time.Douglas Deller is going to Peace River tomorrow with wheat and will bring back flour for the Dead-wood general store.
