Spruce Street Methodist Church' 4is scene of December weddingLate afternoon ceremony unites Morgantown pairA Gibson-girl fashion look was featured by the bride and her attendants as Miss Dixie Lee Downes and Jarrett Ramer Hall were married at 4 p.m. Dec, 27 in the Spruce Street United Methodist Church in Morgantown.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Richard Downes Sr. of 148 Huntington Avenue, Morgantown. The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Hall of Chestnut Ridge Road, Morgantown.The bride is a 1964 graduate of Morgantown High School and received a bachelor’s degree in 1968 from West Virginia University in physical education and English. She is a teacher at the Bruceton Mills High School, Preston County.The bridegroom is a 1962 graduate of the same high school and served four years with the Navy as an electronics technician. He is in business with his father at Morgantown Battery Co.The Rev. Arthur Backus officiated for the double ring ceremony. Soloist was Miss Roxanne Barnes, Miss Catherine Buseman was organist.Candelabra with green pine and white bows and altar flowers of white gladioli, pom pons and pink carnations provided a setting for the wedding.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Gibson-girl look gown of dulcette satin with appliqued V-yoke bordered in chantilly lace with pull-through ribbon and full,-ribbon-trimmed bishop sleeves. The skirt of the formal-length gown was fashioned in an A-line. with three bands of ribbon trim. She wore a Camelot-type headpiece fashioned of Venice lace covered with pink glamelias and attached to a three-tier waist-length illusion veil.The bride carried a cascade bouquet of gardenias, white pompons, pink carnations, pink roses and ivy.Mrs. John A. DeAngelis of Morgantown, a sister of the bride, served, as matron of honor. Other attendants were Mrs. William C. Garrett, Miss Donna Kay Renstrom of Morgantown and Mrs. William B. Hall of Falls Church, Va., sister-in-law of the bridegroom.The attendants wore white Gibson-girl blouses and straight dark blue velvet floor-length skirts with whiteMRS. JARRETT RAMER HALLsatin bustle effect in the back. They wore headpieces of blue cabbage rose and petals attached to blue netting. They carried basquettes of pink miniature carnations and ivy.Miss Angela DeAngelis a niece of the bride, was flower girl and Amy Hall, niece of the groom, was a ring bearer, they wore blouses and skirts fashioned to match the attendants. John Anthony DeAngelis II, a nephew of the bride, was also a ring bearer and wore an Eton suit of blue velvet.David S. Hall of Morgantown served as his brother’s best man. Ushers were J. Richard Downes Jr., . brother of the bride, and Micky J. Finn , both of Morgantown and William B. The mother of the bridegroom chose an ivory crepe dress with silver brocade coat, white and silver accessories. Both mothers wore gardenia corsages.Following the ceremony a reception was held at the church. Assisting were: Mrs. George W. DeAntonis, aunt of the bride, at the guest book; Mrs. Donald C. Hemmann, cousin of the groom; Mrs. Albert M. Renstrom, Miss Sue Ann McGregar, and Mrs. Jerry Zinn, a cousin of the bride.For a wedding trip to Cleveland, Ohio, the bride changed to an orange velour Edwardian suit ..with brown accessories.The couple’s address will be Chestnut Ridge Road, Morgantown.
