The report sent out from Chicago is as follows:“Mrs. Florence Maybrick. the American woman whose imprisonment in England nn a charge of poisoning her husband was the subject of international discussion for more than a decade, and who went on the lecture platform after her release. Is engaged to marry a Chicago man, according to reports from . Atlanta Ga. The man Is Charles Jj. Wagner, 384 Erie street, secretary of the Slayton Lyceum bureau, if the statements arttrlbuted to J. H. McCracken, Atlant representative of tho bureau, are correct.Recently, by a decision of a Virginia court, Mrs. Maybrick and her mother. Baroness Ln. Ronques, were awarded title to large tracts of land in Kentucky said to bo worth. $7,-500,000.“At Mr. Wagner’s Chicago residence the report of the engagement was met with professions of disbelief. Mr. Wagner, who is said to bo 35 or 40 years old, is expeced to arrive in Chicago today from a buei-ness trip in Nebraska.”
