JAMES WILLIAM VARDAMIS(Miss Anita Joann Gibbs)Anita Joann Gibbs Of Seal HbrMarried In Church CeremonyMiss Anita Joann Gibbs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gibbs jr. of Seal Harbor, was married December 27 in the evening, in the Congregational church of Seal Harbor to James William Var-damis of Bangor, son of Mrs. Robert Stevenson of Magnolia, Delaware, Rev. George B. MacDonald officiating at the doubleringceremony.The bride wore a floor length,long sleeved, V-necked, princess style gown of embossed brocaded combspum acetate. Her pure silk illusion veil fell from a seed pearldouble crown. She wore a seedpearl rope necklace which hadbeen worn by her mother and grandmother at their weddings. She also carried a lace handkerchief which her mother had carried. Herbouquet was a cascade of white fiji chrysanthe-achampagne yellow carnations.The bridesmaids were Sally and Cynthia Gibbs sisters of the bride and Prudence Haskell. Their dresses were champagne yellow and the same material and style as that of the maid of honor. They all wore matching shoes and carried cascades of aqua carnations. All gowns were made by the bride.The bride’s mother wore a beige empire sheath of embossed acetate. The ushers were FredVardamis and William Vardamis, both of Bangor.The reception and a buffet supper, were held in Northeast Harbor at the Neighborhood hall immediately following the wedding. In the receiving line were themums.The wedding was performed at candlelight- service. The altar was decorated with white chrysanthemums and greens. Nancy Freeman, a former classmate of the bride, was soloist. Miss Freeman was accompanied by the organist Mrs. George MacDonald. Miss Gibbs was given in marriage by her father, Arthur Gibbs jr.Judith Ellis of Otter Creek was maid of honor. Miss Ellis wore an acqua short sleeved, ballerina length, princess style gown made from the same material as the wedding gown. She wore matching shoes and carried a cascade ofreceiving line were bridal party, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gibbs jr. and St. and Mrs. Robert Stevei\son. The gift table was supervised by Patricia Richardson. Marquerite Cyr poured punch and Dianne Wood circulated the guest book. The wedding cake was cut and served by Mrs. Arthur Fitch and Mrs. Miltcn Wells. The hall was decorated with white streamers falling from a large wrhite wedding bell in the center.Leaving for the wedding trip,Mrs. Vardamis wore a perriwinkle blue sheath of wool jersey with silver jewelry and black leather accessories. Returning from their trip Mr. and Mrs. Vardamis will reside in Bangor.Some of the attending out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gibbs sr. of Beverly, Mass. Dr. and Mrs. Leon J.
