Clay Crawford arrived at Brownsville with an appointment as General in the Mexican Republican Army, and authority to recruit an American division fbr the republican service, under his command. Crawford has established a recruiting office at Brownsville, and other places in the Northern States, and enlistment is already progressing rapidly.It is reported that Gen’ls Lew tV allace and Logan are connected with the movement and are soon expected.Caraviyal, the famous Mexican filli-b aster is expected with a large sum of money, to aid in defraying the expenses of the Imperialists. In Matamoras considerable trouble is anticipated. Gen. Mejia commanding has barricaded the streets, fearing an attack from Crawford’s army.
