The Wapello Republican, received today, gives the following particulars ofan elopement:—John McCleary, son ofJohn C. McCleary of Grandview township, aged about 23 years, eloped withMiss Mattie Crow, daughter of J. H.Crow of Port Louisa township, aged 15or 16, Tuesday morning. Her parentswere not willing for the marriage, butas usual, the young folks outwittedthem. She started to school. He loitored along the road with a buggy until he picked her up and away they flewto Musoatm county. He had procureda license some time last week, it is said.'-•A' W Win that county, in anticipation of |theevent. Mr. Crow is absent, visiting relatives in Washington and Keokukcounties, and the young folks took advantage of this oircumstanoe.
