Jap Deportation Hearing Is HeldWhether Takeo Tadano, a Japanese national, will be released or remanded to the custody of the immigration authorities for deportation was taken under advisement yesterday by Judge Dave W, Ling in U S. District Court.Defense counsel during a hearing yesterday on a writ of habeas corpus, ordered by Judge Ling December 5, maintained Tadano had kept his status as a merchant under which he entered the United States in 1929.Immigration authorities maintain that Tadano failed to apply lor a changed status upon abrogation of the treaty. Their Records show that a hearing had been held on his status January, 1941, and recommendations were sent to the ; national office where a warrant was issued for his deportation December 1, 1942.He was interned until July. 1944 then paroled until facilities were available for deportation, authorities said. Tadano engaged in commerce as an employee of a soya bean concern on the West coast curing his first two years here, then settled near Glendale, Ariz.
