❖ 4* 4*Matthews-Eiker.Miss Bessie Eiker of Knoxville anti Thomas Matthews of Maquon were quietly married Saturday afternoon, Dec. 31 at two o'clock at the Methodist parsonage by Dr. W. H. Craine. The couple vfrere attended by Mr. and Mrs. Earl Woods. Mrs. Woods being a cousin of the bride. 0The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. 1* Eiker of Knoxville and is a highly respected young ladyof that place.Mr. Matthews the son of W. C. Matthews of Yates City and is a prosperous young farmer. He took part in the World war serving as sergeant with the 32nd division. He was overseas ten months.Mr. and Mrs. Matthews will be at home to their friends after March 1 on the groom’s farm, one and one half miles north of Maquon.* + *
