GROWNPOINTIiThe Woman’s club of this city will meet at the home of Mrs, Roy F. Holley on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. .Stella Lodge Edwards of Indianapolis will Rive a talk on “Living with the Stars. She will talk on astrology in a general way and the Influence the stars have on people’s lives. She will also divide her audience into groups, according to their date of birth and will tell them about themselves. Mrs. A. J. Boyo will have charge of the musical program. Hostesses will be Mrs. DeReamer, Mrs. Frass, Mrs.Lassen and Mrs. McNutt.Mrs. Will Letz is recovering nicely from quite a severe attack of the :lu which has kept her at home for the past week.Mrs. Hugh Hutton of Lowell vis-lUd with friends in Crown Point on Saturday.Mr. and Mrs. Dana Norton came to Crown Point on Saturday from Chicago and remained over Sunday with their parents, Judge and Mrs. E. Miles Norton.Almost lt;normal purchase of automobile licenses lias been had in Crown Point this year, Clarence Russell, manager of the local bureau, announced today. There has been a slight decrease in truck licenses, many persons having several trucks, have purchased only one set of plates, Mr. Russell stated. March 1st is the dead line on which a car can be operated on the previous year’s plates. This year the time has been extended an additional month. Gary reports only about a third of auto owners have their 1932 licenses. Mr. Russell expects a rush today and tomorrow, possibly many from the north end cities coming to Crown Point so they won’t have to standin line and wait for their plates.Mrs. William Heide welcomed the Q. A. M. club for their fortnightly meeting on Friday ngiht. An unusually delicious course dinner was served to the sixteen members present. Bridge was in play followingthe serving and high score awards were given to Miss Ruby Brown, Mrs. Mae Lehman and Mrs. Alice Cole. The meeting was very pleasant.Mr. and Mrs. William Kindberg are able to he about after quite a sever© attack of the flu.Representatives of the Fox Movietone company of Chicago arein Crown Point today, taking closlt; ups of Crown Point wedding couples. Judge Howard Kemp, well known local marrying squire, has promised free marriage rites to couples who marry on February 29th, when the marriages are the results of leap year proposals, and the photographers will be on hand to take pictures of Judge Kemp when he joins them In wedlock. Pictures of County Clerk George Sweigert, who will issue the necessary papers, will also he taken. Theabove publicity stunt will again call attention to Crown Point as the popular Gretna Green of the middle west.Scoutmaster Edwin C. Knight ofthis city has returned from Milwaukee, Wis., where he went on Saturday in company with several Gary scout leaders to attend a regional conference in that city.County Auditor William E. Whitaker returned today from a three weeks vacation spent at St. Petersburg, Miami, Florida, and Havana, Cuba.
