LOS ANGELES (UP)—A di vinity student who said he was working his way through the ology school by forging checks was arrested Friday. Police took into custody Rev. Richard Francis Macrone, 26,, Seal Beach, Calif., who said he was a Baptist minister in Sioux Falls, S. C., before coming here. He had been studying for a California ordainment at Los Angeles Pacific college when ar rested by Los Angeles detectives. Officers charged him with forging checks totaling $242.70 They said Macrone found a pock etbook containing the name of Roy E. Patterson, wartime pilot shot down over Germany, and a blank checkbook from a Long Beach bank allegedly used to forge the checks. “I’m cashing these checks so I can get through school and get my divorced wife here from Phila delphia and remarry her, offi cers quoted him.
