As ManFORD CITY Sam Frtsina was lauded as Ford City Lions Club’s “Man-of-the-year” last night »at the Manor Twp. Fire Hall, McGrann.Present at the dinner-meeting were Lions, past, recipients of the award, speakers and the honoree’s mother, Mrs. 'Jennie Frisina.A welcome address was delivered ,by Stanley Schaffer, club president. Roger Faulx, co-chairman of the event, introduced, past recipients of the award who were in attendance. They were Mary Protz, M. R. Tibby, E. J. Steiner, Robert White, Meyer Greenbaum, Harold Hileman, Robert Duncan, president of the Ford City Hose Company, and William Kraeht.Absent recipients were J. George Brown, L. C. Gregory and Besse Barr.A moment’s, silence was observed in memory of those recipients who have died. A candle was lighted for Rose Faulx, Joseph Kamer, Joseph Paul, P. H. Marsh and D. F. Camion.Walter Ball, co-chairman, introduced Joseph Niekleaeh, who served as toastmaster. Nick-leach introduced the Rev. Paul Wiesman, pastor of St. Mary’s Church, Ford City. Fr. Wiesmann said he had known Fris-ina for the past 13 years and credited him with helping youngsters in various sports activities.Sister Barbara Ann, principal of St. Mary’s Parochial School, spoke on how Frisina “was always doing favors for others.” He started the church and school basketball team in 1955. He transported the players to and from all games, home and away.
