E. Peters. 1015 Sixth street, were honored at a family dinner Sunday, February 22nd at their home. Dinner was served at 3 o’clock, with the members of the immediate family present for the occasion. jThe color note or red, w-hite and blue, significant of George Washington’s birthday, was featured in the appointments. The dessert course included an anniversary cake, also decorated in the patriotic colors.Following dinner, the rest of the afternoon was spent socially. The honored couple received several gifts, beautiful flowers and numerous cards In remembrance of their sixtieth anniversary. For the occasion, Mrs. Peters wras presented a corsage of pink carnations and Mr. Peters had a boutonniere.Miss Patricia Thompson was a guest, other than the family.Mr. and Mrs. Peters were married February 22nd, 1893, in this city and they have spent all of their married life in Boone. Mrs. Peters was formerly Miss Annie Laurie Mam, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hawley Mam, pioneer Boone residents. They are well known throughout the community and were affiliated with various local groups during their younger years, Mrs. Peters being a charter member of Dar.iel Boone Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.Mr. and Mrs. Peters have a son and two daughters, Roy Peters, Boone, Mrs. Darwin Shafer, Boone, formerly Miss Catharine Peters, and Mrs. C. B. Anderson, M ; Ames, the former Miss Marv Lue‘ ^ i Peters. They also have three grandchildren. Mrs Egon Jacobsen, Boone, formerly Miss Margaret Ann Peters, Mrs. M. L. Whitmer, Boone, formerly Miss Mary Lue Shafer, and Dennis Shafer, and four great-grandchildren, Stephen Michael, Marcia Anne and James Allan Whitmer, and Paul Douglas Jacobsen.
