BreacU of Promlw.A complaint was tiled with the Clerk of the Circuit Court yesterday, by Sarah J. Koacb, against William P. Watts, for breach of promise of marriage. This complaint alleges in several paragraphs that the plaintiff, in October, 1877, entered into a contract of marriage with the defendant, the said contract to be fulfilled onthe fifth of the following November, or within a reasonable time thereafter; that the said plaintiff has been willing to carry out her part of the said contract, but the said defendant, in direct violation of said contract, has married another woman, damaging the said plaintiff to (he amount of $5,000. The plaintiff lives in Pulaski county. The dafendant is a forehanded and well-known farmer, who lives in Noble township, this county, lie is not by any means a gay Lothario, and nothing short of the strongest positive proof will convince his neighbors and acquaintances that he has trifled with the tender affections of Mrs. Koach. The case will attract general attention and much interest. It has had a singular effect upon Major Me Fad in. He declares that he is longing for a mother in-law, and will posit-! ively sue somebody for $5,000, this week, if some lovely “female woman” does not come forward and offer him her hand in marriage. He will not permit his ardent youthful affections to be trifled with any longer by the cruel ones who have left him lone and desolate so long.
