BOLIN’SWEDSDivorcee, Nurse of Gordon Thorne Weds Him at Crown PointMrs. Marian Bolin, divorced wife of Dr. Bolin, dentist, of Hammond,became the fourth bride of Gordon Thorne, well known Chicago millionaire, at Crown Point yesterday.Judge Howard Kemp officiated at the wedding.The veteran bridegroom was visibly nervous, in spite of his extensive experience, when he applied for a license to marry Mrs. Bolin, who has been his nurse for a month. So nervous, in fact, that he wrote his name as Gordon Thornton upon the application blank and declared thereon that he had been married twice and divorced twice, once in 1921 and again in 1926. Apparently, he was not counting his marriage to Mrs. Ann Clor© Thorne in 1927. and his divorce from her on December 14 last.The couple was in Hammond last night visiting Mrs. Thorne's mother.When the marriage license clerk repeated the name in reading the application, the best man, whose frame was not learned, corrected it and Thorne explained his mistake by saying Thornton was his middle name, which is not true.Tho bride gave her name as Marian McDougall Bolin and her age as 25. She was’ divorced, she said', in February? 1928. Her home is in Hakimond with her mother, Mrs. Carolyn Thompson.According to friends of the young millionairej JVlrs. Bolin, a registered nurse; was called to care for Thornewh£n he fell ill in his Belmont Hotel apartment a month ago. She cared for him through a siege of pneumonia and during the period of convalescence since.Thorne's mother, Mrs. Katherine C. Thorne, 3314 Sheridan road, refused to believe that her son had married again,“Why, that girl is his nurse/*' she said. “It must be a joke. I don’t believe he would do it.”Nevertheless, the records of the license bureau tallied with the dates of Thorne’s birthday, his parents’ names and his address.
