Plan now to plant a few this fall or winter. Blueberry bushes are attractive and may be used as ornamentals as well as for fruit. They make good border, backgrounds and screens. They may, of course, be planted in the garden purely for fruit. They will tolerate some shade, but do best in full sunlight.The Highbush type is grown commercially in eastern North ^Carolina and may also be grown for home use.The Rabbiteye type is recommended only for the Coastal Plain and Lower Piedmont for home use. The Rabbiteye type is more resistant to heat and drought and is more vigorous and productive than is the Highbush type.Highbush varieties for eastern North Carolina, because they are resistant to canker disease, are Angola, Wolcott, Croatan, Murphy, and Scammell;Rabbiteye varieties for Coastal Plain or Lower Piedmont are Garden Blue, Menditco, HomebeU and Tifblue. Lil-ley of Scotland: Neck, graduated from Scotland Neck High School and is presently employed wi h Carolina Telephone and Telegraph Company at Tarboro.The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Godwin of Kenly.
